CCSEL STUDENT SCHOLAR

The designation of a CCSEL Student Scholar is through the DU Grand Challenges (DUGC) program. The goal of a student scholar is to integrate their learning across DU experiences and reflect on their public identity and potential to contribute to work on complex public problems. Through my mentoring with Westminster Public Highschool, I worked to help end the underrepresentation of individuals of diverse backgrounds in STEM by leveraging my experience as a STEM undergraduate student. I was able to share my college, life, and STEM experiences with my mentees in the hope to help guide them on their individual journeys while providing support during each of our mentoring sessions.

Crimson & Gold Service Student of the Year Award 2023

Additionally, I was honored to receive the Crimson & Gold Service Student of the Year Award from CCSEL at the Public Good Celebration 2023. I am so grateful for the recognition and want to acknowledge both my graduate student mentor Naichen Zhao and my faculty mentor Dr. Barbekka Hurtt for allowing me the opportunity to partake in such a fantastical endeavor. I will always remember this experience and how amazing it was to interact and provide support for the WHS students.
